Unusual Head Gear

We really didn't know how this started. This odd part of our society. Common thought was that it was suggested jokingly one day, a drunken dare gone to far.

Either way, it happened, and now we're wearing them.

They were a staple of our society before hand. Just, not in this way. Who wore them on their heads? Crazy people. But now, you were looked at funny if you didn't.

Society changes in unusual ways.

The industry of this fad found themselves with a large surge of demand. Everyone began to want one. And it's not like they were able to be kept for a long time. It was a replenishing nightmare though, until a more permanent way of keeping them was found.

Then came the add-ons.

It seemed only fitting that those who profited initially found a way to profit further were those who helped start it. Cheese was added to the head gear, which initially smelled, but we soon grew use to that as well. On the plus side, it means we wasted less water on baths and showers. After all, the hat  covered any natural funk from the wearer.

Unfortunately, all the dead bovines were beginning to create a problem.

Some of us suggested we should stop this problem. That wearing these things on our head was to unusual. We should go back to eating them. We wasted less then. Research hadn't even found a way of making them last longer.

Crazy talk, right?

Some states started to ban them during certain things. The smell was to distracting to drivers, so you couldn't wear them in the car. Restaurants soon had signs saying they weren't allowed in.

Slowly, people started to use them less.

And then, one day, there gone. No longer being used. There was a period where no one used the materials for anything. Until, that fateful day.

Where someone thought of the idea to sell the cow meat as a type of sandwich.
