70. Bitter Silence

To someone staring at these two seemingly carefree teens from behind, the conversation seemed to be incredibly one sided. The one who was talking had light brown hair, green eyes, and stood at an average height. He wore simple jeans, shirt, and running shoes.

"I'm just saying..." the young coward known as Edda explained, "It could have happened to anyone! And I'm paying you back for it, aren't I?"

There was silence for a couple minutes, as the shorter, dark haired young teen stared towards Edda.

"Come on Paul..." Edda sighed, looking distraught. "We've known each other since we were in diapers...I'm sorry, okay?"

Paul shook his head silently, more silence. Paul appeared to be of Asian descent, but of which kind was not known by him. He was adopted, by a nice couple who had ancestors from France, by the last name of Lie, pronounced as one would 'lay.'

"...What if I got you the advanced version instead?" Edda said after a couple minutes, hands behind his head, glancing at his friend.

Paul stopped in his walking, then smiled, turning to Edda.

His hands moved fluidly, swiftly, making signs and symbols many outside observers would be unable to discern.

"Alright Edda..." the mute signed, "I'll start speaking to you again. You'll be forgiven for breaking my X-Box..."

"Deal!" Edda chuckled, "See, friends do good things for each other."

"Nice try, but you still have to get me the better version."

"Ah man..."
